Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 11th witness (witness no: 1018) and 12th witness (witness no:1019).
Witness No:1006 was also present in the court, however he was released & advised to come on 22nd November 2023 with relevant documents.
The 11th witness was a part time cab driver. The suicide bomber Saharan & one other person came to Shangri – la hotel Colombo on 19th April 2019 by the cab that was driven by this 11th witness. Relevant CCTV footages also showed in the court. Through this witness the Prosecution marked CCTV footage and mobile phone detail reports as evidence.
The same two people who came to the Shangri-la hotel went to Lucky Plaza, Kollupitiya on 19th April 2019 by a cab that was driven by the 12th witness. Relevant CCTV footage showed in court.Through this witness the Prosecution marked CCTV footage and mobile phone detail reports as evidence.
After the evidence in chief & cross examination of the 11th witness & 12th witness the Prosecution informed the court that they do not intend to re – examine the witnesses.
Summons were issued to the 1023th,1024th & 1025th witnesses to appear before the court on 23rd of November 2023.
Next date: The case will be taken up on the 22nd of November 2023 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
