Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 30th witness (witness no: 928), 31st witness (witness no:891), 32nd witness (Witness No:876) and 33rd witness (witnesses No:889).The witness No 896 & 902 also present before the court.
The Lawyer of the 23rd accused informed the court that the accused will not be able to come before the court because of an illness; However, the accused has informed the lawyer that he is willing to proceed with the trial without him.
The 928th witness is a guest who stayed at the Kingsbury hotel when the bomb blast happened; he was having his breakfast in harbour court restaurant with his newly wedded wife. Relevant CCTV footage was shown to the witness in the court. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 928th witness.
The 891st witness is an Engineer in Kingsbury hotel. Relevant documents (two maps) were shown to the witness in the court. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 891st witness.
The 876th witness is a restaurant manager in Kingsbury hotel; he was working as harbour court restaurant manager when the bomb blast happened. Relevant CCTV footages were shown to the witness in the court. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 876th witness.
The 889th witness is the director of security in Kingsbury hotel; he was in the same designation at the time the Easter attack happened. However he was not in Kingsbury hotel when the bomb blast happened. Relevant CCTV footages were shown to the witness in the court. Lawyers of the accused of 2nd, 9th, 23rd, 4th, 15th & 13th cross – examined the witness. Re-examination of the 876th witness also concluded.
Witness No 896 & 902 were advised to be present before the court on 7th February 2024.
The court issued summons to 1131st witness on 7th February 2024 to be present before the Court.
Next date: The case will be taken up on 7th of February 2024 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
