Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 38th witness (witness no: 1128), the 39th witness (witness No: 1144) and the 40th witness (witness No : 1108). The 23rd accused was not present in the court as he is taking medicine in the prison hospital. However, his lawyer represented him. Witness No 1128 was a Head of the front office department in Cinnamon Grand hotel Colombo at the time of the bomb blast. Relevant documents marked through this witness. Lawyer of the 13th accused cross-examined the witness. The witness No 1144 was security manager in Crescat shopping mall at the time of the bomb blast. Several CCTV footage that were already marked showed to him. Lawyers of Accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross examine. The witness No: 1108 is a driver. He is the owner of a car which is registered under pick me. On 20th April 2019 suicide bomber of Cinnamon Grand hotel hired this witness’s car through pick me and went to Mount Lavinia from Cinnamon Grand hotel. Relevant documents marked through this witness. Relevant CCTV footage (already marked) was shown to him. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross examine. Court issued summons to Witness No 1109, 1103, 1058 & 1102. Next date: The case will be taken up on 22nd of February 2024 at 1.00 p.m for further trial
