Brief update:
The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of witness No.2111 (76th witness), witness no. 2113 and witness no. 2225.
Witness no. 2111 has informed that he was unable to be present before the court due to an official reason. Other two witnesses were present before the court.
Judge Damith Thotawatte was also not present for the trial today.
The 9th and 23rd accused were not brought before the court as per the medical advice. However, their lawyers represented them and the court ordered the prison officials to tender documents if these two accused are not brought before the court in the next time.
Witness No. 2111 will be present before the court tomorrow to give evidence. The prosecution asked the permission of the court to do corrections tomorrow and to summon the witness no. 2113 and witness no. 2225 on the 21st of May.
Further trial was fixed for 16th of May 2024.
