Brief update:
The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the trial (Voir dire inquiry) of the 11th accused.
All accused were present before the court.
The court has received summons report that PW. 2228 has gone abroad. On behalf of PW. 2228, Additional registrar, Land registry, Marawila was called to prove Lease No. 18878 marked as X17. The certified copy of the deed was marked.
The witness was cross-examined and the prosecution re-examined the witness.
Another witness from the Terrorist Investigation Division was called to prove the contradictions marked as X10 and X11. The witness was the officer who took the statement of the father of 11th accused.
The lawyer for the 11th accused cross-examined the witness. The prosecution re-examined the witness.
The prosecution concluded the Voir dire Inquiry of the 11th accused marking the documents X1- X17(a).
For the 11th accused 11Y1- 11Y6 documents were marked. 11Y6 was marked subject to proof.
The court made an order with regard to the medical needs of all the accused.
Further trial was fixed for the 03rd of July 2024 for oral submissions.
