152nd Day of the Main Easter Attack Trial – HC (TAB) 2972/21

Today the matter was taken up for the further voir dire inquiry of the 4th Accused. PW 1980, Police Sergeant No. 38640 Namal Bandara, appeared before the Honourable Court.
Ms. Rashmi Weerasekara, Attorney-at-Law, was assigned as counsel for the 7th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th Accused.
At the commencement of proceedings, the 18th Accused informed the court that he was not in good health and requested permission to consult a doctor, stating that he was experiencing pain in his left arm, which he believed was due to high blood pressure. Consequently, he was sent back to the prison for medical attention, and the court adjourned proceedings until 11.30 a.m.
Thereafter, the prison officers orally informed the court that the 18th Accused had been admitted for further treatment at the Colombo Remand Prison Hospital. Therefore, the court postponed the matter to the following day and ordered the prison officers to produce the 18th Accused before the court if his medical condition is well on 10 th of March 2026 at 10.00 a.m.
