163rd Day of the Main Easter Attack Trial – HC (TAB) 2972/21

Except the 17th accused, all the accused were present before court today. 12th and 13th accused were represented. The Judge Sujeewa Nishshanka was admitted to the hospital, therefore the trial cannot be taken up today.
The summons were issued to PW 533, 577, 578, 601, 602, 604-616 to be present in the morning and PW 591, 618-626, 629-633 and 636-647 to be present before court in the afternoon on 30-03-2026.
Further, the court issued summons to PW 648-668 to be present in the morning and PW 669-684 and 686-692 to be present in the afternoon on 31-03-2026.
With regard to the voir dire inquiry of the 4th accused, the written submission of the prosecution and the oral submission of the 4th accused will be taken up on 09-04-2026 since the photocopy machine is broken and the proceedings are not yet available.
The next hearing is scheduled for 30th March 2026 at 10.00 a.m.
