180th Day of the Main Easter Attack Trial – HC (TAB) 2972/21

Venue: Special Permanent Three-Judge High Court (Trial-at-Bar), 2nd Floor, MCC Building, Adhikarana Mawatha, Colombo 12.
An additional witnesses list with PW 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 11 and 13 was submitted to the court for the voir dire inquiry of the 9th accused.
Prosecution led the evidence of PW 11 who is a retired JMO of Colombo. He gave testimony of the JMO report given by him. The doctor ‘s copy of the JMO report was marked as L2 and the JMO report submitted to Kegalle High Court no. 4485/ 2021 was marked as L3.
The witness was cross-examined by the 9th, 11th and 3rd accused and was also re-examined.
PW 13, who serves as the JMO of Gampaha hospital was called to give evidence regarding the JMO report given by Dr. Hapugoda. That JMO report was marked as L4. The witness was cross-examined by the 9th and 4th accused. L4 was further marked as 9Vb5. The witness was also re- examined.
PW 1, who was under the duty to present the 9th accused to both the JMOs was called. He testified as to how he performed his duty assigned to him. The 9th, 4th and 11th accused cross-examined the witness and he was also re- examined.
PW 10, the then main Police Inspector of CID was called. He had come specially to Sri Lanka to give evidence while he is on Five year sabotical leave.
Since the 8th accused got sick, the proceedings were stopped around 4.40pm and the witnesses were advised to be present before court tomorrow.
After the voir dire inquiry of the 9th accused. The prosecution intends to have the voir dire inquiry of the 1st accused and the documents were handed over and was informed the court that they intend to summon PW 2095.
