All the accused, except the 17th accused who has passed away, were present today. The 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 19th and 20th to 25th accused were represented and the others appeared in person. The main trial continued.
PW 1633 is a CID officer who conducted investigations in Nasmia Villa situated at Paraththa Road, Panadura, regarding the suicidal bomb blast in Kingsbury hotel. The investigations were conducted on the 21st and 22nd of April 2019. Many PR forms and productions were marked through her evidence. She was cross-examined and also re-examined.
PW 1851 is also a CID officer who had conducted investigations in the Cinnamon Grand hotel on the 21-04-2019. He has conducted investigations in the room of the suicide bomber. many productions were marked through him and he was not cross-examined.
PW 1898 also has conducted investigations while serving in the Kathankudy police station. He has arrested the 2nd and 19th accused but he was only able to identify the 2nd accused. He was cross-examined but not re-examined.
PW 2221 was serving in Ampara police station at the time of the Easter Sunday attack and has arrested the 18th accused. He identified the accused in open court. The witness was directed by the accused to a place where he hid bombs and other explosives. Many productions and the statement made by the accused was marked through the witness. He was cross-examined and also re-examined.
