All the accused, except the 17th accused who has passed away, were present today. The 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 19th and 20th to 25th accused were represented and the others appeared in person.
The accused gave the details of the other pending cases before them in other courts to the state counsel. The accused were provided with the certified copies of the proceedings on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 17th of August 2026 and also the stationary they need to prepare the written submissions. The 11th accused was given the marked documents 11D4 to 11D7 upon his request.
The 2nd and the 3rd accused were summoned by the Kegalle High Court to be present before the court on the 31/08/2026. The court ordered the prison authorities to inform the Kegalle High Court case no. HC 4409/20 that the accused will be appearing before this trial-at-bar on the same day. Further, the prison authorities were directed to take the 13th accused to the relevant clinics on the 1/9/2026, 3/9/2026 and 4/9/2026 and also to hand over the 2 pen drives given to the prisons on the 8/9/2026. Since the 8th accused has a clinic on the 22/9/2026, the court ordered the prison authorities to take him to the clinic a day before the judgement.
The prosecution agreed to insert the soft copies of the marked documents to the laptops of the three judges for their easy reference. The accused were directed to plead for the unmarked productions by way of a motion.
The judgement will be delivered on the 22/9/2026 at 8.30am.
Next date and time: 28/08/2026 at 2.00 p.m. to deliver the certified copies of the proceedings.
