Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the trial at Bar for the evidence of the 9th witness (witness no: 1015) and 10th witness (witness no:1016).
The 9th witness is a three wheeler driver. The one who booked the room for suicide bombers in Shangri – la hotel Colombo has come on 17th April 2019 to the Shangri-la hotel by the three wheeler which was driven by this 9th witness. Relevant CCTV footage also showed in the court.
The same man who came to the Shangri-la hotel to book the rooms for suicide bombers went to the Kingsbury hotel on 17th April 2019 by three wheeler which was driven by the 10th witness. Relevant CCTV footages showed in court.
The evidence in chief of the 9th witness & the 10th witness were concluded. However, lawyers who appeared for the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross examine the witnesses.
Summons were issued to the 1006th,1018th & 1019th witnesses to be present before the court on 21st of November 2023 and 1025th & 1022th witnesses to present before the court on 22nd November 2023.
Next date: The case will be taken up on the 21st of November 2023 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
