Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 13th witness (witness no: 1022) and 14th witness (witness no:1006).
The 13th witness was a cab driver. According to him, a person known as Mohammed went to Place in Mount Lavinia from Shangri – la hotel Colombo on 20th April 2019 by his cab. Relevant CCTV footage also showed in the court. Through this witness the Prosecution marked mobile phone detail reports as evidence. The evidence in chief, cross examination & Re – examination of the 13th witness were concluded.
The 14th witness is the Financial Controller in Shangri – la hotel Colombo. A document issued with his signature was shown to the witness. According to his evidence it includes Loss/damage caused by the Easter bombing at the hotel and consequent closure of the hotel. Through this witness the Prosecution marked this document as evidence. The evidence in chief & cross examination of the 14th witness was concluded. The Prosecution informed the court that they do not intend to re – examine the 14th witness.
Next date: The case will be taken up on the 23rd of November 2023 at 1.00 p.m for further trial & on 24th November 2023 at 2.00 p.m for corrections of the proceedings.
