Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 15th witness (witness no: 1023) and 16th witness (witness no:1024).
The 15th witness is a cab driver. His evidence revealed that early morning on 21st of April 2019 a suicide bomber has gone to Pillawoos in Kollupitiya from a housing scheme in Dematagoda by the car driven by 15th witnesse. Relevant CCTV footage also showed in the court. Through this witness the Prosecution marked mobile phone detail reports (analysis report) as evidence. The evidence in chief was concluded. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 15th witness.
The 16th witness is a cab driver. His evidence revealed that early morning on 21st of April 2019 a suicide bomber has gone to Shangri – la hotel Colombo, from Pillawoos in Kollupitiya by the car driven by 16th witnesse. Relevant CCTV footage also showed in the court. The evidence in chief, cross examination & Re – examination of the 16th witness were concluded.
Court issued the summons to the witness No 1035 on a previous date, however on this day Prosecution informed the court that the witness is abroad.
Next date: The case will be taken up on the 6th of December 2023 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
