2024.01.10- 27th day of the Main Easter Attacks Criminal Trial against 24 Accused

Date : 10/01/2024 Case number : HC(TAB) 2972/21 Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 19th witness (witness no: 174) and 20th witness (witness no:177). The 19th witness is a catholic priest who held the mass when the bomb attack took place in Kochchikade St. Anthony’s Church on 21st April 2019. Relevant CCTV footage showed to the witness in the court. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 19th witness. The 20th witness was a cashier of a wine store. Relevant CCTV footage from the wine store was showed and marked during his evidence. Lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross – examine the 20th witness. Prosecution informed the court that the Witness No: 176 who summoned to come today, has migrated. Case will be taken up tomorrow for the evidence of the witness No 21 and 183. Next date: The case will be taken up on the 11th of January 2024 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
