Brief update:
The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the evidence of the 25th witness PW 862 and the PW 821 and PW 863 was also present before the court.
The 23rd accused has been discharged from the National Hospital, Colombo and was sent to the prison hospital where he has had two more heart attacks during last week. He was discharged from the prison hospital and was present before the court today. Upon the request made, the court ordered to admit him to prison hospital and the doctor of the prison hospital to send a medical report of him tomorrow and to refer to a specialist if he thinks suitable.
The evidence of PW 862 was taken today. The witness is a receptionist at Kingsbury Hotel. He found difficult to testify in Sinhala, therefore, the evidence given in English was translated to Sinhala and Tamil.
The witness has made a room reservation for the bomber in Kingsbury Hotel who had reserved the room in the name of Mr. Abdullah Abdullah. The computer generated room reservations for the guests, the document confirming the advance payment the bomber made and some CCTV footages were marked.
Only the counsel for the 13th accused cross-examined the witness and the witness was re-examined thereafter.
PW 821and PW 863 was discharged from giving evidence.
The court ordered to issue summons to PW 868, PW 870, PW 872 and PW 873 to be present before the court on the 24th.
