Brief update: The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar to continue the evidence of the 36th witness (witness No:1131), an executive officer in charge of security in Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
The trial was conducted without the 23rd accused as he was absent and a lawyer represented him.
The witness identified the separated head of the bomber by photos marked as P.85(1)& P.85(2) which he was previously identified in the CID investigation. Further movements of the bomber in the 88 cctv footages at the Thaprobane Restaurant and 4th floor cctv footage identified.
The evidence – in-chief of the witness was not concluded.
Prosecution requested permission from the court to amend the witnesses lists. With the permission of the court PW 2195 and PW 2196 added as new witnesses.
The court issued summons to witness no.2195 to be present before the court on the 13th February 2024.
Witness no. 1131 and witness no.1110 were advised to be present before the court on the 13th February 2024.
Next date: The case will be taken up on 13th,14th and 15th of February 2024 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
