Brief update:
The subject case was taken up before the Trial at Bar for the further evidence of the 46th witness (witness No 1058) and evidence of the 47th witness (witness no.1152) and 48th witness (witness no. 1115). Witness no. 1101 was not present before the court since he had to attend some task outside Colombo.
The 23rd accused was not present in the court as he was under medication in the prison hospital and was represented by a lawyer.
The witness No. 1058 is an employee in Cinnamon Grand Hotel, seeing to customer care in Thaprobane restaurant. The witness was shown a CCTV footage and was questioned.
Witness no. 1152 is a professional who prepared the damage estimate of the Cinnamon Grand Hotel. A document was marked through the witness.
Witness no. 1115 was a retired security officer in Katunayake International Airport who was responsible for handing over CCTV footage upon request. Certain CCTV footages were marked through the witness.
The lawyers of the accused informed the court that they do not intend to cross examine all three witnesses.
Upon the request of the state counsels, court allowed to make corrections in the proceedings.
The court issued summons to witness Nos. 1101, 1127, 1117, 905, 906 and 2197 to be present before the court on the 29th February 2024.
Next dates: The case will be taken up on the 29th of February 2024 at 1.00 p.m for further trial.
