205th Day of the Main Easter Attack Trial – HC (TAB) 2972/21
Date: 11th June 2026|
Venue: Special Permanent Three-Judge High Court (Trial-at-Bar), 2nd Floor, MCC Building, Adhikarana Mawatha, Colombo 12.
The case was taken up before the Trial-at-Bar with all accused present, except the 17th accused, who had passed away.
Except the 17th accused who has passed away, rest of the accused were present before the court. The 2nd, 10th, 12th, 13th, 18th and 20th accused were represented and the other accused appeared in person. Today 11 witnesses were present in court to give evidence regarding the Saindamardu bomb blast and the rented house in Enderamulla. The prosecution informed that they do not intend to lead the evidence of PW 2274, 2275 and 2276 and court discharged them.
PW 2246 was the notary who prepared the lease agreement for Enderamulla rented house and PW 2273 is the neighbour of the rented house. The lease agreement and the photo of the lessee was marked.
PW 2279 was the owner of the Sanidamardu house which was rented. His wife, PW 2280, PW 2282 who was the Grama Niladhari of Saimdamardhu 09 in 2019 and PW 2284 who was a leader of the Mosque gave evidence as to the bomber and blast occurred in Saidamardu on 26-04-2019. The photos of the bomber, weapon, two houses were showed through a projector and were marked after identified by the witnesses.
Since, the required evidence was covered through the witnesses PW2281 and 2283 were discharged. The court issued summons on PW 2289 and 2290 to be present tomorrow.
