All the accused, except the 17th accused who has passed away, were present today. The 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 19th and 20th to 25th accused were represented and the others appeared in person. The main trial continued and PW 1594, 1597, 1598, 1712, 1714, 1726 and 1869 were present before the court today.
PW 1597 is a retired police inspector who had involved with the crime scene inspection of the St. Anthony’s Church, Kochchikade and also at Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda. He has divided the parts of the Church and given to different SOCOs for inspection.
PW 1594 is also a retired police inspector. While he was working as the OIC of Nugegoda SOCO has come for crime scene inspections of the St. Anthony’s Church, Kochchikada and also a house in Lucky Plaza. Certain productions were marked from the Lucky Plaza house.
PW 1714 is the OIC of Ingiriya Police Station and he has involved in the inspection of a house in Katuwapitiya as a SOCO officer. A number of productions were marked through his evidence.
None of the witnesses were cross-examined. PW 1598 were discharged from giving evidence and PW 1712, 1869 and 1726 were advised to be present before the court tomorrow.
