174th Day of the Main Easter Attack Trial – HC (TAB) 2972/21

Venue: Special Permanent Three-Judge High Court (Trial-at-Bar), 2nd Floor, MCC Building, Adhikarana Mawatha, Colombo 12.
Under Sections 414 and 420 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the accused have made formal admissions confirming that the bomb attacks occurred on 21 of April 2019 at the following locations: St. Anthony’s Church, St. Sebastian’s Church, Zion Church, and the Kingsbury, Shangri-La, Cinnamon Grand, and New Tropical Inn hotels.
The defence has agreed to accept official government records regarding the identities of the injured persons and their medical reports, without calling the doctors to testify.
The accused have also accepted the identification of deceased persons and the expert findings in post-mortem reports, except in respect of persons alleged to have committed suicide.
Further today, in the indictments relating to the Kathuwapitiya Church bomb blast*, the names of certain witnesses who had given evidence were amended, and the necessary corrections were made.
